Other forms: road hogs
If the driver in front of you on the highway is taking up two lanes, you might be tempted to accuse him of being a road hog, or a selfish driver.
Hogs have long been associated with greed and selfishness, and to "hog" something means to take too much of it. In the case of road hog, a driver is greedily taking up more than his fair share of the road or acting in a way that blocks or impedes other cars. It's a colloquial saying from the late 1800's.
